The Monterey Peninsula Quilt Guild reaches out to the community to lighten the burden of those in need by providing comfort quilts and other items. We are proud to have provided comfort to hundreds of men, women and children. Community Outreach is an integral part of our guild and we are happy that together we can make an important difference in our community.
Our members give freely of their time, talents and resources to create quilts and other items for donation to local nonprofit organizations and health care facilities. The Community Outreach Committee coordinates their service projects for our guild. Every member can contribute to these projects – donate materials, cut and package kits, make tops, quilt and apply bindings. There is something for everyone to do – at any level of quilting experience.
Quilt can be requested by anyone in the community. They are given out to persons suffering catastrophic loss (house fire, flood, etc) or emotional trauma (abuse, serious illness, etc).
